I’ve actually had my own website since around 2000, but back then it was written in straight HTML code. A bit archaic by today’s standards. But here are some of the pages from that old site.
(They open in a new window, because the navigation on those pages doesn’t get you back to this new mobile-compliant site.)
Writing samples
The vast majority of my career was spent in the newspaper industry as a reporter and editor. The samples on this page are some of the better works.
I am particularly proud of this one:
Make no mistake, we are at war.
It was written within hours of the September 11 attacks on the U.S., and was published in 31 publications across the country.
The Sunday Challenger
COVINGTON, Ky. — On Sunday, February 19, 2006, a great newspaper said farewell to its readers.
The Sunday Challenger, serving Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties in Northern Kentucky, USA, since July 4, 2004, published and distributed its final edition that day. Facing what appeared to be at least another couple of years of financial losses, the owners decided that enough red ink was enough, and closed the publication down.
I was editor-in-chief, and this page is a tribute to the people who worked with me.
